A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to a year round school schedule

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 25.084 of the Education Code is amended by adding subsection A to read as follows: All students in Texas must attend school year round with a two week break occurring each semester.

SECTION 2. The fall semester shall begin in August and end in December with a two week break occurring in October. The spring semester shall begin in January and end in May with a two week break occurring in March.

SECTION 3. A full school year shall begin August 12th and conclude in May 27th.

SECTION 4. This Act takes effect August 12, 2021.
